Female rapper Megan Thee Stallion short bio

Megan Thee Stallion's rise from freestyling college student to chart-topping rap superstar is the stuff hip-hop dreams are made of.

Megan Jovon Ruth Pete was born in 1995 in San Antonio, Texas before moving to Houston as an infant with her mother, Holly Thomas. Performing under "Holly-Wood", Thomas brought young Megan along to recording sessions, immersing her daughter in the realities of the rap game from an early age.

Megan blossomed in Houston, developing her own skills as a rapper as a teen and shocking her mother with provocative lyrics far beyond her 18 years. Though made to wait until 21 to pursue music professionally, Megan couldn't be held back.

In college, her viral freestyle videos amassed followers and buzz online. Megan had a presence and flow that mesmerized, earning her the nickname "stallion" for her towering height and curvaceous frame.

Megan adopted the moniker Megan Thee Stallion and began releasing tracks on Soundcloud and YouTube. Her "Hot Girl Summer" anthem pushed her into the mainstream, and smash collabs soon followed.

Though she completed her health administration degree in 2021, music is Megan's passion. She rallied her hotties and left school to chart a course to hip-hop stardom. The bet paid off huge, with Grammy gold cementing her rapid rise.

Megan's confidence, skill, and determination prove she is a southern stallion built to run the rap race - no matter what obstacles get thrown her way. Her story shows that, with the right hustle and focus, even college freestylers can become icons.
